Signs of Solidarity
SOS is a Know-Your-Rights campaign to inform business owners and their employees about their rights in the event of an ICE visit. Although D3 does not offer legal advice, we do provide educational materials relevant to workers’ immigration status and the relationship to a business. Businesses are also offered signs to hang to show solidarity with immigrant communities.
Bracelet Brigade
Have you ever tried to remember a phone number phone number in a critical situation? It’s almost impossible. And when ICE is involved, it’s even more difficult.
The Bracelet Brigade is a D3 craftivism project. D3 members and friends use beads to spell out the name and phone number of PIRC, the Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition. The number connects the caller to a rapid response hotline, which will dispatch observers to the site where ICE may be present.
These trained observers provide crucial information to legal teams working to preserve immigrant rights. And it all begins with a bracelet.
Bracelets are distributed to at-risk individuals free of charge.
They’re available to supporters for a donation of $5 per bracelet. Each donation ensures that bracelets are also shared with organizations that support immigrants’ rights.
